In Rhea County, Tennessee, Seventh-day Adventists were sentenced to the chain gang for Sunday-law violation. All in the picture except the three in front are Adventists. The man on the wagon at upper left is an ordained minister. Similar arrests for Sunday-law infraction occurred in several Southern states.
